The Adours are the
rivers coming from Gripp, Lesponne, Payolle, which , around Bagneres de Bigorre, merge to
form the River Adour. They are fast streams from 5 to 15 metres wide and a regular
flow. They are very rich in insect life with all sorts of species well represented
throughout the season.
Peche au toc, the " traditionnal " Pyrenean technique.
With worms, tinea or other natural bait, it is still the most popular technique. In muddy water, just after a downpour, it can be a killer. In shallow transparent water, it calls for stealth and finesse.
Fly fishing, the flexible technique.
For those who know how various kinds of fly fishing methods ( dry fly, wet fly, nymph with or without indicator ) , it is the technique which is the best adapted to the changing moods of trout. It enables you to find rapidly the depth at which the fish is feeding. Fly fishing is fun and can be very successful.
